Primary Function: 

Developer is responsible for developing and supporting the software platform named Flow GIS including but not limited to developing additional features, testing and debugging the program and other tasks as assigned. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a team, which may be established purely for a particular project, to write a specific section of the program.
  • Combine all elements of the program design and test it.
  • Test sample data-sets to check that output from the program works as intended.
  • Conduct testing and install the program into production.
  • Evaluate and increase the program's effectiveness.
  • Adapt the program to new requirements, as necessary.
  • Conduct first round user acceptance testing to ensure the program can be used easily, quickly and accurately.
  • Consult manuals, periodicals and technical reports to learn new ways to develop programs and maintain existing skills and knowledge.
  • Update, repair, modify and develop existing software and generic applications.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of computer applications and functions including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, iOS, and various relational database systems.
  • Must be able to efficiently operate computers and perform computer support.
  • Able to diagnose PC hardware/software problems.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from an accredited educational institution; or an equivalent in education and experience.
  • C#, Javascript, Java, Python, HTML, CSS and XML 
  • SQL Server, Oracle experience a plus
